Oh, to have been at the public swimming pool in Torquay when a squirrel dove in and gave his fellow swimmers a fright and a great story to tell over dinner.
A quick Google search provided us with some tips to share with you should one of your neighborhood rodents harbor aquatic ambitions. We've paraphrased them here:
- Use a pool net to scoop the squirrel up.
- Don't scream like a little girl and drop the whole net back in to the pool if the squirrel runs up the handle. The theory is that it's more scared of you than you are of it and it won't run right for your face and start chomping your nose. They promise.
- Pull the net backwards and lay it on the ground. The squirrel will do the rest.
